The road was long and dusty, the donkey plodded on
When they arrived in Bethlehem, the daylight had all gone
The crowds and the confusion, and no place to stay
Still its true they made it through to Christmas Day

Chorus:
God gave us hearts so we could dream our dreams of magic
But sometimes hearts grow weary and they crave a little light
But if we need a star to guide us through a dark and lonely time
We can always remember Christmas Night.

The hills were cold and empty, the shepherds kept their sheep
Worried that the silence of the night would make them sleep
And wondering if their quiet lives would always be that way,
Just then an angel band began to play
